Dzisiaj na placu Al-Tahrir w Kairze znany duchowny sunnicki i przewodniczący Międzynarodowego Związku Uczonych Muzułmańskich (IUNS), szejk Jousuf Al-Karadhawi prowadził modły piątkowe.
Szejk Al-Karadhawi nie miał prawa prowadzić modłów piątkowych w Egipcie przez ostatnich 31 lat [1] ;ostatni raz wygłosił kazanie piątkowe w Egipcie w 1981 r. po zamordowaniu prezydenta Anwara Al-Sadata [2] .

Al-Karadhawi: Rewolucja przeciwko “tyrańskiemu faraonowi” należy do wszystkich Egipcjan
Podczas olbrzymiego zgromadzenia na placu Tahrir w Kairze, gdzie tłumy oceniono na milion osób, modły piątkowe prowadził przewodniczący Międzynarodowego Związku Uczonych Muzułmańskich, szejk Jousef Al-Karadhawi.
W kazaniu wyraził szacunek dla młodzieży egipskiej za jej osiągnięcia w rewolucji przeciwko “tyrańskiemu faraonowi” Hosni Mubarakowi i powiedział, że rewolucja należy do wszystkich Egipcjan, zarówno muzułmanów, jak chrześcijan.
Młodzież nie może pozwolić na to, by wyrwano jej rewolucję z rąk
Al-Karadhawi wezwał młodych ludzi, by przyczynili się do budowania kraju, zachowania jedności i nie pozwolili, by wyrwano im rewolucję z rąk. Chwalił deklarację armii o jej poparciu dla demokracji, wyborów i ustanowienie komitetu do zmiany konstytucji.
Poprosił armię o rozwiązanie nowego rządu i uwolnienie więźniów politycznych i obiecał, że wojsko egipskie będzie nie mniej patriotyczne niż wojsko tunezyjskie.
Arabscy przywódcy muszą słuchać woli ludu
Zwracając się do arabskich przywódców wezwał ich do szanowania woli ludu, ponieważ nikt nie może zmienić biegu historii.
Módlcie się o zdobycie Jerozolimy; Chcę wygłosić kazanie piątkowe w Al-Aksa
W specjalnej wzmiance o kwestii palestyńskiej Al-Karadhawi poprosił armię egipską o otwarcie na oścież przejścia w Rafah i modlitwy o ponowne zdobycie Jerozolimy przez muzułmanów, żeby on i muzułmanie mogli bezpiecznie modlić się w meczecie Al-Aksa. Ta część kazania spotkała się z wiwatami i oklaskami tłumu [3] .
Powiedział także, że chce wygłosić piątkowe kazanie w meczecie Al-Aksa [4] .
