Przywódca Nation of Islam, Louis Farrakhan, wygłosił trzy i półgodzinne przemówienie na konferencji Saviors’ Day w Detroit w Michigan 23 lutego 23, 2020. W przemówieniu Farrakhan mówił o zabiciu dowódcy Siły Kuds IRGC, Kassema Solejmaniego przez siły USA. Farrakhan powiedział, że spotkał się z nim podczas swojej wizyty w Iranie. Farrakhan powiedział, że prezydent Donald Trump zabił jego „brata Solejmaniego” i nazwał go „złym człowiekiem” za zabijanie Amerykanów. Farrakhan kwestionował obecność USA na Bliskim Wschodzie, mówiąc, że jest to w celu obrony „małych, służalczych krajów” przed Iranem. Powiedział, że Solejmani nie był terrorystą, był „bratem z Iranu”, który pomagał ludności Iraku w pozbyciu się okupacyjnej armii. Farrakhan dodał, że była sekretarz stanu, Hillary Clinton, także zabiła jego „brata”, libijskiego przywódcę, Muammara Kaddafiego i że to jest powodem, dla którego jej nie popierał ani na nią nie głosował. Farrakhan opowiadał, że powiedział irańskiemu najwyższemu przywódcy, Alemu Chameneiemu, że reprezentuje Mahdiego, który powiedział, że „Ameryka jest na pierwszym miejscu do zniszczenia na jego liście” i że może być zniszczona w 12 godzin. W „przesłaniu do żydowskiego narodu” powiedział, że nie jest „nienawistnikiem” i że nigdy nie wydał rozkazu „skrzywdzenia żydowskiej osoby”, ale ma zamiar „powiedzieć wam dzisiaj trochę prawdy”.

Kilku burmistrzów z miast w Michigan brało udział w tym zgromadzeniu, jak również przewodnicząca Rady Miasta Detroit, Brenda Jones, która odczytała ze sceny przesłanie poparcia dla Nation of Islam. Nowy meczet Nation of Islam mieści się w dawnej synagodze o nazwie Congregation Beth Moses.[1] Farrakhan powiedział 23 czerwca 2019 r.[2], że ta nieruchomość została kupiona przez zwolennika Nation of Islam, który „kocha nauczanie tak bardzo, że wyłożył 300 tysięcy dolarów własnych pieniędzy, żebyśmy mogli kupić byłą żydowską synagogę”.
