18 marca 2010r. Ministerstwo Finansów USA narzuciło sankcje przeciwko dwóm organizacjom związanym z Hamasem – Al-Aqsa TV i Islamic National Bank (INB). To działanie, zgodnie z Dekretem Prezydenckim 13224, zamraża wszystkie aktywa Al-Aqsa TV lub INB, podlegające jurysdykcji USA i zakazuje obywatelom USA wchodzenia w jakiekolwiek transakcje z nimi. Celem tych sankcji są między innymi terroryści i organizacje terrorystyczne.
Ministerstwo Finansów stwierdziło, że Al-Aqsa TV jest finansowana i kontrolowana przez Hamas, służąc jako najważniejszy środek masowego przekazu Hamasu, który nadaje program “skonstruowane w celu rekrutacji dzieci, by po dorośnięciu zostały zbrojnymi bojownikami Hamasu i samobójcami-zamachowcami”.
MEMRI monitoruje Al-Aqsa TV od czasu jej założenia i informuje o Hamasie przedstawicieli rządu USA, włącznie z Ministerstwem Finansów USA i członkami Kongresu, jak również przedstawicieli rządów zachodnich, takich jak Francji, Wielkiej Brytanii, Niemiec, Włoch i innych.
